The team had a hard start to the tournament, playing the eventual winners (ICSB) in the first game. The boys played exceptionally well in this first match, the teamwork and football displayed were of really high quality. After an early setback going 1-0 behind, the guys rallied to come back to 1-1. They then started their push for the winning goal, creating several good goal scoring chances while containing the opposition to long range shots. As the game progressed it looked like there would be one definite winner of the match, but the breakthrough never materialised. This meant that after a period of extra time, a penalty shoot-out was required to settle the game. Unfortunately luck was not on our side and we lost the shoot-out 2-3. In the next 2 games we played the schools from Vienna, showing glimpses of the class the team has. In the first match, we went 3-1 up early on in the game. We then relaxed and that cost us as ICSV drew level to 3-3. Eventually we prevailed via a penalty shoot-out win 3-2. In the last game, already knowing the result of the tournament, the team did a fantastic job of keeping their motivation. This match resulted in yet another good display of football, but unfortunately another draw, 2-2. We could not seem to find the all important deciding goal and were yet again taken to penalties. The shoot-out was intense and successful, we won 5-4.
