This week our Year 7 scientists have started their biology unit. They have been exploring the skeleton, tissues and organs. The enthusiastic scientists conducted a heart dissection to see how the left and right parts of the heart differ, and how that is related to where they pump the blood.
After some more instruction, students then conducted a chicken wing dissection, peeling back the skin, muscle, connective tissue and blood vessels.
The classes were intense and difficult but the students did very well in their first ever dissections. Well done!
