Internal Model United Nations Conference

On Friday 1st February 2019 our Model United Nations Team ran their first internal conference. Delegates debated the humanitarian issues surrounding Kurds in Turkey in front of an audience of parents, teachers and students. The conference began with an opening address from Mr Dyer, who also awarded our Secretary General Zahra Zulqarnain and Vice-Secretary General Kyumin Lee with their credentials. Both students have done an excellent job running the MUN Co-Curricular club and together they organised a terrific conference. Their opening and closing speeches were also excellent.

The conference was chaired very successfully by Fraser Payn and Rowena Kosmac-Okwir, guiding the delegates through the issues at a fast pace and maintaining decorum throughout. Delegates seized the opportunity to debate and a number of excellent speeches were made. Several delegates won awards, which will be awarded to them in assembly later this term. It is wonderful to see this student-led club growing and we hope to put on more conferences this year.
