Here at BISB, we are committed to supporting our students and school community to improve their general Health and Wellbeing.  Getting active is one way to do this and there are currently a wide range of native English opportunities to do so, both within our school and across the city.  This weekly feature serves to showcase what is currently on offer to help improve and sustain your activity levels as well as offer some tips and advice on how to adopt healthier lifestyle choices for you and your family.

Issue 11 – Move more and make use of lighter evenings

Don’t forget to reset your clocks this weekend! Whilst we will experience an hour less in bed, daylight saving does bring the benefit of lighter mornings and evenings. When combining this with the mild weather of recent weeks, what better time to get the whole family outside and active?  Naturally there are multiple CCA options on offer at BISB as touched on in previous issues but for those of us looking to keep ourselves and the children active after dinner and at weekends, what else is on offer in our community?

The upcoming Pilis Mountain Race (April 28th/June 23rd) takes place just a short drive from the city of Budapest.  It is open to all ages from 5+ and is described as a Spartan style adventure race incorporating both natural and man-made obstacles. Fancy your chances? Medals and T-Shirts are awarded to all who complete the course (for a nominal fee).  See the link below for details.

Mud not your thing? Check out Margitsziget where there are multiple options including Water Parks; Sports Centres; Open Air Theatre; Bike and Walking Trails; Musical Fountain, Petting Zoo and many more.  Located in the heart of the city, the island is easily accessible by both car and public transport.

If it is sports that you can’t get enough of, then Budapest has its fair share beyond the gates of BISB.  These include but are not limited to Cricket; Football; Golf and Tennis, all of which are located just a short drive or public transport ride from suburban Budapest.
