Bed (Hons) Physical Education, The University of Edinburgh 

QTS Primary Education

Mr Montgomery began his teaching career in 2009 having graduated with a Bed (Hons) from The University of Edinburgh.  Whilst studying in Edinburgh, Mr Montgomery played a key role in the development, leadership and longevity of a summer sports camp initiative.  Mr Montgomery secured his first teaching post at a secondary school in the Scottish Borders before moving to his current post 5 years ago as a primary school PE specialist in the Scottish Borders.

This is Mr Montgomery’s first teaching position with both NAE and BISB


Mr Montgomery’s ambition is to engage and motivate all students in their education to attain academic excellence; lifelong physical activity habits and personal qualities to equip students in today’s ever changing society.  Mr Montgomery places a strong focus on the integration of moving and thinking skills to promote independence and help support connections across learning for all students.


Mr Montgomery is an avid Footballer who has a keen interest in lowering his Golf handicap in his spare time.  Mr Montgomery was unable to run the Edinburgh Marathon last year due to a late injury and is eager to complete at least one in Budapest.

Mr Montgomery and his wife are busy with their young children who love visiting parks, walking and swimming in their spare time together.  Mr Montgomery enjoys travelling and experiencing new cities, foods and cultures.  He and his family are looking forward to exploring Budapest and the surrounding areas.
