Having completed four years studying at Brighton University to gain a BA(Hons) in Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status, Ms Knowlden took 6 months out to travel and volunteer around Asia. Upon her return to England, she secured a job at The Regis School, which is a Specialists Sports College for 11-18 year olds. Here, Ms Knowlden specialised in teaching GCSE, BTEC and A-level PE, always superseding well above the national averages.
A highlight of Ms Knowlden's career has been working on the International Inspiration programme which was borne out of the 2012 London Olympics. Ms Knowlden was lucky enough to train over 100 pupils to become Sports Leaders in their community. She trained up 10 new PE teachers and delivered a whole school inset on how to be an outstanding practitioner.
Over the last 10 years Ms Knowlden has developed a passion for the outdoors and spends lots of time kayaking, surfing and hiking. She also likes to compete in 10k runs, usually for charity and as a personal target; her aim for this academic year is to take part in the Triathlon held at Balaton! Ms Knowlden is also an avid reader and is never far away from a book.
Through teaching fun, innovative and dynamic lessons, Ms Knowlden has allowed students to develop into confident leaders of the future. Many of her pupils have developed a deep knowledge and understanding of Physical Education and have gone on to become teachers, physiotherapists and doctors.
