Katalin Tamás

Katalin Tamás

SEN Teacher (Developmental Motor Skills)

Master’s Degree in Occupational Physiotherapy

Qualified PE Teacher

UNEFS – National University of Physical Education and Sports, Bucharest

Mrs Tamas used to be a professional gymnast after which, having competed her university studies, she started her career in 1979 as a gymnastics coach and physiotherapist in Arad.

She has 36 years of experience in teaching and has been working with us at BISB since 2004. Mrs Tamas developed her own Special Educational Programme, which she has used with great success with children who require learning support. Her programme is based on stimulating brain functions through specifically designed, concentrated physical exercises.

“Mens sana in corpore sano” – A healthy mind in a healthy body.

She was taught that a healthy body can support a healthy mind, so physical education is an important and essential part of mental and psychological well-being for children. Over the years with huge empathy and patience she has given self-confidence for many students who need to develop these skills.

She is still interested in all forms of physical activity. She likes creative cooking, classical music and jazz. She is in the process of writing a book, explaining her methods of developing Motor Skills. She has a son who is completing his university studies.
