Gwilym Cox

Staff Profile - Gwilym Cox

Grade 4 Teacher

Gwilym is an elementary teacher who has recently spent 6 years teaching in central London. Prior to this he spent 7 years as an EAL teacher in Tokyo.

  • BA (hons) Film Studies, University of Central Lancashire
  • PGCE Primary, Reading University
  • CELTA language teaching, Hammersmith College

Having spent 7 years in Tokyo teaching EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and EAL at a university in Tokyo, Gwilym returned to England to retrain as a primary school teacher. After graduating from the University of Reading, he worked at a busy Westminster school for 4 years, including one as an assistant principal. This role included child protection and safeguarding lead responsibilities. After teaching at another London school, Gwilym decided to resume his international teaching career.

Gwilym is married to a primary school teacher and they have two children. His family is very happy to be in Cambodia and are looking forward to travelling around the country and also further afield in Asia. Gwilym is a keen surfer and the family love the beach.
