Nancy Calimlim is a linguist, who has passionately devoted most of her professional life in language teaching. As a Mass Communications graduate, Nancy worked primarily in media, but after receiving an invitation to work as a teacher in an international school in the Philippines, Nancy unearthed her expertise in languages and discovered her passion for teaching. Thus, she changed her career path -- from media to education. At the start of her teaching career, Nancy was a Spanish and EAL teacher, but having demonstrated her leadership potential, she was given a bigger responsibility of being the Head of the EAL Department, which she persevered for 9 years. Upon the implementation of IBDP, Nancy became the English B Teacher and the Extended Essay Coordinator.
Nancy is a supportive partner to Japs and a loving mother to Lexis, her 5-year-old who attends Kindergarten at Northbridge. Her family keeps her sane from all the daily grind of her profession.
Nancy is thrilled to have joined this fantastic institution, and she cannot contain her exhilaration to reach the students’ minds and hearts, and most of all, to celebrate success with them as she pursues language teaching at Northbridge.
