Blessings in a Backpack

BISC Lincoln Park's community thrives through the helping spirit of families who come together and represent our shared values beyond the classroom.

Recently, two of our school's families met up for a wonderful weekend of volunteer activities.

"My children Eli, Ben, and Noah joined together with another Year 6 student, Angelo, and his family to volunteer with their Sinai Congregation's annual 'Mitzvah Weekend,'" said mom Lauren . "They organized and sorted items at the Lakeview Pantry, along with bagged lunches for Blessings in a Backpack."

Our school also learned that these BISC Lincoln Park students volunteered at Cornerstone Community Outreach, creating English Learner Kits for refugess new to the city.

"By the end of the weekend," Lauren said. "they felt great about helping make other people's lives better and had fun doing it!"

We're so proud of Eli, Ben, Noah, and Angelo for uplifting our school's core values and making a difference in our local communities.
