I was born in Wales and lived by the seaside over there for a few years. I moved to the suburbs just outside of London when I was four and grew up close to Richmond Park so spent a lot of my time outdoors. I have loved my first year in Chicago, and I’m looking forward to discovering even more of the city and America this year. I started dancing at a really young age and then began acting classes. This passion became quite serious for me and I went to drama school from the age of 16 before doing my acting degree in London. I continued to act professionally for a few years and still take classes now. I took a job as a teaching assistant and fell in love with the career, so after a year I went to do my PGCE to train to become a teacher.
Creativity and challenge help our students get better every day. I believe this wholeheartedly. Because of my background in performance, I ensure my lessons are taught drawing on different creative elements. This is because it engages children and ensures they are accessing their learning using different skills and mindsets at all times. Ensuring learning is cross-curricular brings it to life and means children are challenging themselves to discover more and try harder while they spot new ways to learn or develop.
