I was born & raised in Waltham, Massachusetts. Once I graduated from college, I moved out to Orlando, FL for an internship with Walt Disney World. My program was originally 3 months, but I had the honor to renew my contact twice. Completing a year long internship, shortly after I moved to Chicago to work for City Year. As well as for a volunteering opportunity to help under resourced children in the south side of Chicago, specially in Back of The Yards. After my brief time at City Year, I started to work for an Early Childhood Center in the heart of downtown Chicago as a Primary Toddler Teacher. When I was younger I dreamed of being a teacher, but followed a path in social work. Teaching wasn’t, a part of my plan. Yet, I love being in the classroom & it has grown to be a career path I enjoy. I love Chicago because it reminds me so much of Boston & I feel at home here, even if I am a thousand miles away! Plus there’s always something to do!!
I believe that there should be no limit to what every student can achieve because everyone is different. We set our own stands & pave our own goals as well as dreams. A child should always dream as big as they want without having someone say it is too small or big to achieve. As long as they set their mind to it & so what can achieve it as long as they do what they believe they need to a achieve it they can do it. As one of my favorite quotes says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our dearest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
