The Chicago Help Initiative (CHI), is dedicated to providing meals and resources (health services, shelter, and employment) to Chicago residents that are homeless and or facing challenging situations. CHI serves warm meals on white-clothed tables to 130 guests in a safe and dignified setting. An additional 70 individuals receive a bag meal to go. CHI’s mission is to assist guests in bettering their lives and becoming contributing members of the community again. CHI is very much a local organization, drawing support from the residents and businesses of Chicago.

With the outpouring of participants in the South Loop High School CHI Brown Bag Lunch drive on February 8, BISC South Loop exceeded our expectations of 300 lunches by successfully delivering around 600 lunches to different shelters across Chicago.

This week especially, since it is extremely cold, these lunches will help immensely for people in need who are homeless and struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Seeing our Chicago South Loop private school band together was amazing. With the quality of the lunches, we are certain that the people receiving them will appreciate them immensely.

We hope to hold another South Loop Lunch Drive after the February break, and to break the record of 600 lunches!

A massive thank you from everyone involved at BISC South Loop and the CHI teams stationed around Chicago! We will be in contact with more information regarding the next South Loop Lunch Drive after the break!
