Learning Support

I graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies and Sociology. Upon graduating, I participated in a one year Chicago Teacher Residency program where I taught as a Third Grade teacher with Chicago Public Schools and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and my Illinois Teacher License. After the Residency program, I taught for a year as a First Grade teacher and an additional year as a Pre-School teacher. My most recent teaching experience was in Prague, Czech Republic. While living in Prague, I taught Third Grade at an international school and taught English to adults. I am currently participating in classes to receive an endorsement in Special Education. I am excited to bring my teaching experiences to BISC-SL.

I grew up in Geneva, Illinois, a Western Suburb of Chicago. I am one of five kids and my parents and sister’s family live in Geneva, so I enjoy taking the train to visit on the weekends. My family also enjoys going on family vacations, every winter we go skiing in Utah and we spend the summer at Lake of the Ozarks, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, hiking, and playing card games. I love to travel and try to go to a new place every year. When I am not traveling I like to play soccer, run by the lake, read outside, play card games, and try new restaurants.

BISC-SL personalizes learning for each child. The small class sizes help teachers to differentiate instruction for each student. Teachers are able to challenge students in areas they excel as well as support them in areas they find difficult.
