On Monday, April 23rd, our Primary Department celebrated UNESCO World Book Day with a range of activities. In the morning, some very kind parents volunteered their time to read a book to our children in their native language. The children enjoyed listening to stories in English, Chinese, Korean and German.

At lunchtime, the children were also able to choose some 'new' preloved books from a selection of books brought in by other children. Finally, in the afternoon, an announcement came over the PA system, telling all Primary students to 'Stop,Drop and Read!' - all the children had to stop what they were doing immediately, find their nearest book and read for ten minutes. The activities were a great success and we heard so many positive things from the students about books and reading.

Thanks to all the parents and teachers who gave up their time to make our activities a success. We hope to have even more activities next year to celebrate books and reading in our school. Remember: 'You're never too old, too wacky or too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.'
