Inter-House Cross Country:

The Inter house meet will be held in the afternoon of Thursday, 2 November @ LIS.

Parents are very welcome to come and cheer on the runners.

Routes & Approximate times:

12:45   Meet at upper Pitch for warm up and cheers
12:55 PK 50 meters on the upper pitch
1:05 JK 80 meters on the upper pitch
1:15 SK 300 meters on the upper pitch then down onto the close track and back up on the pitch.
1:30 Grade 1 (B) 440 meters on the upper pitch then down onto the track and around the long track and back up on the pitch.
1:45 Grade 1 (G)

2:00 Grade 2 (B) 

will run 880 meters starting on the upper pitch and around the small route doing (2 x Grade 1 route).

Clubs:

Please remember that clubs finish yesterday. The next week, 23rd onward, Children from SK – grade 12 will be taking the 3:30 buses home on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the next club season which starts on 14 November.

LFA:

It was a very busy week for our wonderful LFA group who did a great job on Thursday and Saturday with their awesome bake sale. Both days were huge hits with the LIS students and the visiting teams and coaches.

CISA Field day:

The first ever grade 4 & 5 field day was held on Friday 20 October. Students travelled to Meishi and participated in a number of great activities.  It looked like a great morning of activities. Thanks to the chaperones, Mr. Richard, Ms. Vicki and Mr. Paul.

ACAMIS & CISA Teams:

What a great week we had last week. On Saturday we hosted 15 teams playing U15 boys and girls and U11 mixed soccer.

Thanks to our great coaches, Darren, Felicia, Ryan, Jane, Cheryl and Chloe, LIS had two 1st, one 2nd, and one 3rd place finish. There was some very skillful soccer and the players and spectators had a lot of fun!

On Thursday Leman hosted the CISA U19 boys & girls volleyball championships. Our coaches, Carol, Scofield, Paul and Chloe were all quite happy with the improvement the teams are making on the final stretch toward the culminating event… ACAMIS Volleyball in Chongqing. With only a week and a half to practice the teams volunteered to come in Saturday to get in extra practice time.

The LFA did a great job at both events doing bake sales and hotdog lunches! The food was awesome and it looked like they had a good day watching games and doing some fundraising at the same time. The LFA donated 3000 rmb to the Orphanage in Shangri la which the grade 10 trip students used to buy supplies for their kids!

Thanks to all the teachers and students who came down to cheer on the teams and of course a special thanks to the coaches for all the hours they have put into the teams.

Season two is coming up fast… U15 B & G Vball with Ms Carol for boys and Ms Carina for the girls and U19 basketball with Ms Felicia for the girls and Mr Scofield for the boys.

It was a great showing by all and the teams are almost ready for ACAMIS in Chongqing from 26 – 29 October. Way to go everyone!

U19 Basketball & U15 Volleyball:

The U19 Basketball team will start practice on the 6th of November and will practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:30.

The U15 Volleyball teams will practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30.

Both groups will have regular season games and will come home late on those nights.

PE Classes:

Ms. Felicia’s & Mr. Scofield’s PE classes are finished swimming and will move on to their next units, cross country running and fitness training, starting Monday.

ADI Sport Saturdays at Leman (for LIS students only):

ADI SPORTS WILL RESUME THIS SATURDAY…  21 October.

ADI will be accepting registrations this Saturday at the field. Please come and sign up there.

ADI will offer sports, Soccer, Basketball and Tennis, at LIS on Saturdays starting on 9 Sept. and finishing on 2 December. This is for LIS students from JK – grade 5.
