Hello LFA Members:
Every parent is a member of the Leman Family Association. as you know from last week's newsletter, we are transitioning to a new form of communication between the LFA executive and all the LFA members.
We are in search of volunteers for Homeroom Parents for the primary level and for Grade Level Parents for the secondary level.
So you might ask, why, what for, how can this help?
Well allow us to tell you that science has proven that children get a boost of confidence when they see an involved parent. Aside from that great news, and maybe a bit of pressure, it also provides us with a vehicle to remain connected.
This volunteer will be able to assist teachers with classroom functions, organizing class parties if relevant, sending reminders etc. just to list a few possibilities.
But most importantly, this person will be in close communication with the LFA coordinators to get important messages relayed to their classroom parents on social and school events, fundraising, sports and school supported activities as well as helping to organize volunteers and donations.
These leaders will stand for your voice: any issues, concerns or question parents might have might be easily answered by you in the WeChat class forum or you can direct the question to someone who can answer it.
So again! Here is an invite to anyone who has time, and a willingness to assist with these function. Please inform your class teacher. If someone has already volunteered dont feel discouraged offer your help to them and join a winning team. You can always reach out to an LFA committee member as well. Help never gets turned down.
There is a reminder that we will be having a coffee morning at the Ascott at 10am for Sept the 6th. The LFA Committee had its first meeting with Administration this week and the minutes will soon follow. In the meantime know that every day we make progress and we are convinced the faculty and staff at LIS value their partnership with parents..
