ACAMIS & CISA Season 1 Volleyball Championships:

As I am sure you are aware our U19 boys and girls volleyball teams went to Chongqing last weekend to represent us at the ACAMIS Silver division championships.

It was a great tournament! Our boys finished the round robin undefeated placing them first overall and the girl went 3 -1 to finish second in the round robin. The finals were held on Saturday and the players struggled a bit. The girls lost their 2nd vs 3rd match but won the 3rd vs 4th match to place them 3rd for the season. The boys won their first match on Saturday but struggled in the finals losing in the third set to finish in 2nd place.

It was a great event and the students were great ambassadors for themselves, the coaches and the school. Congratulations to Jessy and Eileen and Achille and Ben for being selected to the all ACAMIS team!

We need to give a “uge” thank you to our top-notch coaching staff for a great season. The boys’ coaches were Carol and Chloe and the girls’ coaches were Scofield and Paul M. Another “uge” thank you goes out to the LIS Cheer squad, who travelled down to Chongqing Friday night, watched the finals and headed back Saturday afternoon. The cheer squad was: Katherine, her husband Li Xin and their daughter, David, Michelle and John Mindorff, Scofield’s wife and little Scofield, and Steven P. We also had Patrick’s mom, brothers and grandfather come down to cheer on Saturday! Thanks for the support guys!

Season 2 starts Monday.
