Early Years News

Welcome to Leman International School Early Years

EY 1

We have had a fantastic start in the Early Years (EY) community. Our youngest Leman students are proving themselves to be open-minded and risk-takers, approaching their new environment and school experience with great courage and enthusiasm!

Early Years at Leman continues to grow! This year we have added two new classes to Junior Kindergarten and maintained three full classes in Pre- Kindergarten. Four highly experienced teachers and Teaching Assistants joined our EY community this year. We would like to welcome Miss Tiffany, Miss Kyla, Miss Katie and Miss Erica our new EY teachers and our Teaching Assistants, Miss Cici, Miss Shirley, Miss Lesley and Miss Chelsey.

We are proud of the amazing transformation done to our outdoor learning and play environment over the summer! Our goal is to constantly improve our environment to support learning and help develop a whole child in EY. A new rubberized surface was added to our main play space for children to safely drive cars and tricycles. We have also expanded our natural surface and replanted thicker and softer grass throughout the fenced area. An enclosed man-made forest was created for students to freely run around allowing them to observe and inquire into living things. The young trees are looking great and in years will provide shade and habitat to different types of birds and insects as they mature.

Our EY community is definitely off to a fun-filled year of learning, playing and discovering! What a great beginning!

Enabling environments mobilize the energy, attention, curiosity and focus of children. Howard Gardner
