Inter-house swim and T & F day:

Next Friday, 4 May, LIS students will be participating in the Inter-house swim and T & F carnival. In the morning students from Grade 1 – 5 will be on the pitches doing fun and competitive games while the students from grades 6 – 11 will be in the pool. After lunch the kids will switch and the younger kids will be in the pool while the older ones will be up on the pitches.

PK, Jk & SK will have some activities in the morning.

Parents are welcome to come and cheer on the kids. Activities for grade 1 – 11 will start at 0915 and will wrap up by 1515.

Please ensure that your child(ren) have their swim gear and their PE gear for the field activities. Water bottles are a must and sun hat and sunscreen may also be good ideas.

CISA Track & Field:

LIS athletes will be travelling to Anren to take part in the CISA T & F meet hosted by Confucius Int. School. The bus list will come out next week. Athletes must participate in their LIS PE gear. They must bring water bottles, hats, sunscreen, and a little cash if they want snacks. A Chinese type lunch will be provided.

Grade 4 & 5 Camping:

Last Tuesday night our grade 4 students did their camping on campus test run. The kids had fun setting up their tents and getting their fires started without the use of matches. The kids cooked hot dogs on sticks on their own fires and made s’mores for desert. Mr. Paul and Ms. Vicky slept out with the kids and everyone had fun.

The grade 5 trip went out this past week and we will try to get a report for the next newsletter but I’m sure everyone had fun.

ACAMIS & CISA Season 3 sports:

Last week was very busy for Leman athletes.

CISA Swim meet:

Tuesday Leman’s pool was very busy with over 150 swimmers from 6 Chengdu International Schools. Our LIS coaches, Mr. Ben and Ms. Allerie, were very happy with our swimmers. The LIS swimmers had great success. You may see the results on the attached PDF.

CISA U15 Basketball:

Our U15 boys and girls had a long day last Saturday. They both won their preliminary games putting them both into the finals. The girls fought hard but came up short losing by 2 points to give them second place overall. The boys made short work of their opponents and were champions again this year! LIS had great support this tournament from many parents, friends, teachers and admin. Thanks to all those who came to support the LIS athletes.

U19 Soccer:

Our U19 B & G travelled to Dongguan to represent the school and represent they did. The LIS players played hard, played fair and were true ambassadors for the school. Ms. Felicia and Mr. Paul were very happy with the effort put forth at the tournament on and off the pitch.

Our girls won a few, lost a few but in most of their matches they were dominant but had trouble finishing goals. The boys on the other hand finished 3rd in round robin play and came back to beat the 2nd place team to get into the finals. In the finals they took the first place, undefeated team, to a tie at the end of regular play. The game was still tied after the first overtime and with seconds left in the second overtime our boys conceded a goal giving them 2nd place over all.

What a great week!

Thanks to all the coaches and supporters!
