Year 1H Puppet Show

Year 1H have been learning about light and shadows in their science lessons and opened their assembly with a poem that was written by last week's guest aurthor Nick Toczek about what shadows do. In ICT they learned how to make their own movies and showed everyone how they created their shadow puppets. The shadow puppet show the children performed was based off the book, Oi! Get Off My Train. The children created the characters and a backstory for their creatures explaining why they needed to get on the train in their literacy class. The assembly ended with an adorable song about shadows.Today's assembly showed the connection of the children's learning combining science and literacy to create an intriguing story and show that captivated the entire school.
