British Scouting Overseas

The Beavers and Cubs of the 1st Nanjing Beaver Scouts Colony celebrated their 10th birthday recently, with Bear Grylls, the U.K. Chief Scout, adventurer and TV presenter, recognizing a decade of Scouting Service in the city. 

1st Nanjing Scouts made history by opening the 1st Nanjing Beaver Scouts Colony in China, at The British School of Nanjing, and they continue to sing songs, play games, tell stories, and earn badges, all whilst keeping to their promise by “always doing their best, thinking of others before themselves and trying to do a good turn everyday”

Part of the recognition of 1st Nanjing Beavers Scouts Colony was to award Caroline Shephard, who has led the Beavers since they first put on their scarves, The Chief Scout’s Ten Years of service certificate and badge.
