Book Week

BSN will be celebrating Book Week with an action packed schedule.

On Monday and Tuesday we are welcoming visiting authors Jenny Wang and Simon Higgins.  They will be presenting in the auditorium and working with primary and senior students.

Obido will be running the Book Fair with a big range of books for all ages. Parents are encouraged to pop in and see the books on sale.

During the Book Drive and Gift Tree charitable activities all students and parents are encouraged to support others in providing access to books and sharing in the pleasure of our creating our own imaginary worlds.

Book Week

We are very pleased to announce that Jenny Wang (www.authhorsabroad.com/jennywang/) and Simon Higgins (www.authorsabroad.com/authors/simonhiggins/) will join us for Book Week  this year.

Writer-adventurers like Marco Polo, (China) Rudyard Kipling, (India) H. Rider Haggard (Africa) and Lafcardio Hearn (Japan) teach us that ironically, it’s through storytelling –fiction- that we citizens of the world can learn to appreciate each others’ diverse realities.

Simon Higgins, Visiting Author

Teachers have been spending a lot of time decorating the classroom doors as book covers.  A huge round of appluas for our very creative teachers.  Bringing out the fun and excitement through the world of books.

“There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours you haven’t started wondering about yet.” – James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

We are working with Pfrang, a charity supporting access to education, sponsoring 321 students in rural Jiangsu province, parents and students are encouraged to buy an extra book at our Book Fair for the Pfrang Book Drive.

And of course, what would a Book Week be without Book Dress up Day?
