I am from the UK, and I have worked in many countries including Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Peru and now China. I gained an honours degree in Medieval Literature from the University of Exeter in the UK. I hold a Masters degree in Marketing from the Open University Business School in the UK, which I obtained with Merit. I gained my PGCE from the University of Nottingham, UK, which I passed with Distinction.
I have worked in many different industries across both the private and public sector. Before qualifying as a teacher, I previously worked as a marketing manager for a British textbook publisher, as a pan-European product manager for Canon Inc. Following that I worked for Newcastle University, UK, developing new Masters’ degree courses for the School of Education, working closely with the Teacher Development Agency. I also worked for Newcastle City Council in the UK, where I was the editor of their city magazine.
I have taught Business, Business Strategy and Marketing in a number of different settings. I have taught Business for IGCSE and A level, as well as Business Strategy and Marketing for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK.
In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, especially outdoor swimming. I also enjoy expeditions to cold places which gives me the perfect excuse to knit a lot of socks and scarves. I have two children at the British School of Nanjing in years 8 and 11.
