Carolina Kelso

Carolina Kelso - Country Day School

Second Grade Teacher

I have been working in Country Day School since 2017 and consider it my home; I attended CDS myself. I enjoy learning alongside my students and tailoring a curriculum to meet their needs.

Hi! My name is Carolina Kelso. After receiving my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education from Southern Methodist University, I proceeded to work in the Dallas Independent School District as a Kindergarten teacher. I enjoyed working alongside my peers in creating a comprehensive dual language curriculum to serve the school’s increasing Hispanic population.

During my first year as a teacher, I began to explore options to specialize in leading me to my next journey: an M.A. from Teachers College Columbia University. During my time in New York, I worked as a literacy intern, coaching and learning from colleagues.  In the summer of 2014, I graduated from my Master of Arts as a Literacy Specialist.
