Originally from Colorado and transplanted to Costa Rica in 1996, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Colorado University in 1994. While studying for a master’s degree at Indiana University the following year, I got a scholarship to study in Costa Rica, where I fell in love both with the country and a Costa Rican, and never looked back. A few years later, completed a Master’s degree in International Education from Framingham College, and shortly after, in 1999, began teaching at Country Day School.
During my 20 years at CDS, I have been an English teacher in Early Childhood, a Prep teacher, and Literacy Coach, working as a teacher leader. I have also run the popular after-school science club for several years. Currently, I am a 5th-grade teacher.
When not passionately educating children, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and cooking. An animal lover, I live in the mountains with my myriad of pets, husband, and two children, who are also CDS students.
