I have devoted my life to teaching history to provide students with the tools and perspective necessary to live lives of purpose, gratitude, and love. I consider history to be the ideal vehicle for fostering critical thinking, compassion, and empathy. I believe these skills are essential to producing empowered citizens who have the courage and capacity to create a world of peace and harmony.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Teaching History from the University of Illinois – Chicago. I enjoy sponsoring extracurricular activities such as Model United Nations, Debate, and National Honor Society. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, writing, and running. It brings me great joy to be teaching in Costa Rica, the beautiful land of Pura Vida!
