Ryan Peterson - Country Day School

Math Teacher

Hello! My name is Ryan Peterson and I am originally from Pound Ridge, New York. I graduated from Boston College in 2015 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Secondary Education and Mathematics, and again in 2016 with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. During my time as Boston College, I spent a semester as a student teacher at St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School, where I taught two Honors Precalculus courses, and solidified my love for teaching.

I have been working at the Country Day School since graduating from Boston College. I spent my first year teaching 6th grade math, and this will be my second year as a high school math teacher. I have really enjoyed working at CDS and getting the chance to grow as a professional. The students are a joy to get to know both inside and outside of the classroom.  In high school, I have taught students in every grade, which has greatly helped me develop my teaching craft.

In my free time, I love to watch all American sports, especially football (I was in the sports broadcasting club at BC).  My favorite teams include the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Buccaneers the New York Knicks, and of course, anything Boston College related.
