I completed high school in the USA and then I moved to beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina. Two years later, I moved back to the USA, and I earned a double Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology. After working for the State Attorney’s Office in South Florida for several years I joined the Broward County School System and fell in love with education.
While working for the State Attorney’s Office, I decided to complete a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in services to Families and Children. Soon after, I got married in South Florida. We then moved to Italy for four years, where my daughter was born. I love travelling and learning about new cultures. I enjoy learning different languages and exploring new places. While in Europe, I also lived in England and I visited many European countries.
As a counselor, I believe in the social-emotional development of a child. Thus, teaching about emotional intelligence is just as important as teaching any other subject in school. If children are emotionally stable and capable of making social connections, they can do anything they set their minds to accomplish.
After spending a year back in the USA, I decided to move to Costa Rica to raise my daughter, and I joined Country Day School 17 years ago. I wanted to work for the best school in Central America and I knew it had to be Country Day School. As soon as I started working at CDS, I decided to further my studies and I earned a Masters Degree in International Education.
I don’t subscribe to any particular philosophy but I believe that we are on this Earth for a short period of time and we should concentrate on helping each other grow to become better human beings, while respecting each other and the Planet in which we all live.
