Our last assembly of the academic year was filled with sadness, tinged with a hint of joy as we had to say goodbye to a number of wonderful students and staff.
In the short time that I have been at the school I have been overwhelmed by the level of professionalism and dedication from all staff. We will be saying goodbye to a number of staff today who will be very much missed by the children and other staff members. I think you’ll agree that the school is an exceptional community of people where your children’s interests and skills have been nurtured. Next year, we plan to further enhance learning by offering a wider range of learning opportunities, mainly in music and the performing arts. We will also be offering a range of other clubs which will make learning fun – we will send out further information in September.
Information regarding your child’s class will be sent to parents before the school opens in September as class moves will only be finalised in August.
Please remember that there will be an onsite uniform shop on 29th August when parents will be welcome to purchase new uniforms. Black shoes and school hats must also be worn from September. Thank you for your support with this.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful Friends of Compass, in particular Claire and Rebecca, who have organised some fantastic events this year. Our Movie Afternoon, Blanket Sale and Health Morning were a great success. We hope that more of our parents will join the group next year. I would also like to thank our Class Representatives who have been wonderful supportive Gharaffa ambassadors.
I would like to end this year’s newsletter by thanking all parents for your kindness and support. Your children are lovely, caring individuals who are a credit to the school.
I will be in touch before the start date with a few reminders and further information.
Have a relaxing, fun holiday. If you are leaving the school for good I wish you the very best of luck and much happiness.
Head of Gharaffa
