Thursday’s assembly was led by Y1B and Y2B. The students confidently spoke and sang in both English and French. The theme of the assembly was the IPC Personal Goal of Morality. The students also performed two stories which focused on the theme of making the right choices. Well done to the students for a brilliant assembly and explaining the meaning of morality so well.
Well done to all the swimming teams in the recent galas, we will be hearing more details in next week’s newsletter.
As their Entry Point for the IPC unit “Let’s Pretend”, EY2A and EY2B visited the Maktaba Children’s Library. The children listened to stories, dressed up as story book characters, completed art and craft activities and watched a shadow puppet show. They all thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
Last Monday, Year 6 visited Gondolania at Villagio as part of the Entry Point for the new IPC topic of Fairgrounds. The children had a great time experiencing motion and gravity on the rides, which they will now use as a basis for learning about forces and electricity.
The ‘Grow to Grow’ initiative at Rayyan Campus has been a huge success. Mr Metcalf, Mr Aktar, Y5 and the Eco Warriors have definitely achieved their mission of creating a culture of growing within our school. Who can have missed the incredible greenhouse that has appeared, filled with bottles containing growing plants. What an amazing journey they have been on.
This week, the children are focusing on the IPC Personal Goal of Thoughtfulness. Students have defined this goal in their own language as:
- I think about and take care of other people.
- I think about other people’s point of view.
- I use my thinking skills to help solve problems.
- I think about what I have learned and what I am good at.
- I can find ways to get better at the things I want to improve
- I help new children in my class and school.
On Thursday 24th May it is the turn of Y1/2C to lead our assembly.
