Madinat Khalifa Primary Headlines | Monday, 9 September 2019 Weekly news from Madinat Khalifa Primary Campus.

Dear Parents,

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” – John F. Kennedy

Our Student Leadership elections took place last week in Madinat Khalifa Primary. There was a real buzz around the place as students shared their ideas about how to make our school even better. I have been astounded by the number of students who put themselves forward to represent their class and the school. These students presented their proposals in an enthusiastic and confident manner whilst their classmates listened intently and responded with insightful questions.

The Primary School Council was announced and presented during last Thursday’s assembly.

They are as follows:

3MA

Chris Holroyd

3MB

Hala Morgan

4MA

Eden Holroyd

4MB

Monsoon Deep

5MA

Alan Hill

5MB

Aon Alkhatib

5MC

Hamza Yahiaoui

6MA

Munachiso Onwusogh

6MB

Daan Schuurmans

The process for appointing Head Boy and Head Girl was slightly different. This involved students submitting an application, which included their ideas for improving the school for students and a reference from a teacher, these were reviewed by myself, Miss Bastone and Mr McArtney. The final stage involved the applicants being invited to an interview with myself and Miss Bastone. After hours of deliberation, we finally agreed on the two successful candidates.

The Heads of our Madinat Khalifa Primary Students Leaders are:

Head Girl – Katarina Stipicic

Head Boy – Elliot Sanderson

Congratulations to these students and a huge thank you to all that volunteered for the role. For those students not successful on this occasion, there will be a number of additional leadership opportunities for all ages including House Captains and linked to our Global Campus challenges throughout the year.

Have a great week,

Jimmy Frawley

Head of Primary, Madinat Khalifa
