Early Years 2 Teacher

I am from Belfast in the North of Ireland and have just graduated from Stranmillis University College, Queen’s University Belfast. I completed my BEd degree with a specialisation in outdoor learning. My experience and interests also include behaviour support and diversity in the classroom. I have lived and taught abroad in Malta but this is my first time in the Middle East. Having assisted many schools and their eco councils, I am thrilled to be taking on the Eco Warrior ECA committee. The council and I will be promoting energy efficiency, recycling and healthy eating around our school.

Compass International School Doha and the Nord Anglia group interested me due to the many different types of students that I would have the pleasure to teach. My interest and training in diverse classrooms has allowed me to see the benefits of multicultural classrooms for both students and staff. What impressed me about the Early Years department was the emphasis on child led learning and the free flow nature of our base, meaning every day in my classroom is exciting.

Outside of school I enjoy reading and baking and I have trained in Martial Arts from a young age and wish to join a club here in Doha. In recent years I have tried to travel as much as I could, and having been to most of Europe, the travel opportunities that I have from Doha excite me.
