A long time ago, accounts vary as to where, a poor man saved the life of the Emperor’s daughter.
As a reward the Emperor offered him anything he could name.
The poor man asked for the hand of his daughter but was coldly refused.
The Emperor said that he should name something physical and that as the most powerful man in the world he could give him anything.
The poor man produced a chess board and asked that the Emperor do one single thing and if he could not achieve it, he would claim his daughter.
He asked that the Emperor to put one single grain of rice on the first square, two on the next, four on the next, and then eight and so on.
How many grains of rice do you think would be on the last square, and do you think the Emperor was able to grant this man his wish?
