Starting at School

The first few days at any new school can be challenging as well as exciting.

Starting a new school does not have to be a daunting experience for students or parents. Once a new student arrives at our school, the whole community will be involved in welcoming them and their family in a variety of ways.

For all our families joining us we have designed New Student Handbooks to guide you through the important information for either a student starting in Early Years Foundation Stage, Primary,  Secondary or the IB Diploma Programme. The handbooks are available online in Parents Essentials.

We also operate a buddy system, and our older students will take on the responsibility for showing new students the ropes and helping them integrate into our community.

Parent class representatives also play a key role in welcoming new families, while our Parents' Association will organise regular events to provide families with an opportunity to mix informally, have fun and support worthwhile causes.

We hope that your move to NAS Dubai will be a smooth one. The most important thing to remember is: if you do run into a problem, please don’t  feel you have to fix it on your own. There are plenty of people to turn to at NAS Dubai who would love to help.
