I trained to be a teacher in Leigh-on-Sea, an old fishing town in Essex near to where I grew up. I taught in this area for six years before moving to London where I taught for two years and gained my OCR Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties. During this time, my wife and I made the decision to teach internationally, subsequently moving to Thailand and then Spain. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences I have gained whilst teaching and living in both countries.
I have worked in a wide range of educational establishments and key stages, and supported children to build on their academic, emotional and social skills whilst ensuring a motivating, fun and fair environment is provided for all.
Whilst out of school I enjoy a range of activities including visiting museums, eating good food and playing rugby. I have a passion for travel and try to visit new destinations during my school holidays. My recent journeys have taken me to Mozambique and Zimbabwe. I have also been fortunate to visit countries, including Australia, Italy and the United Arab Emirates, whilst playing rugby.
I am thoroughly looking forward to meeting the children, families and staff at NAS Dubai and I cannot wait to get started.
