I come from Syria where I had my first experience of teaching Arabic. However, teaching in Dubai was different for me in the sense that it has effectively expanded my experience and sharpened my teaching skills as it offered me the chance to deal with students coming from different cultural backgrounds and deepened my understanding of the significance of cultural diversity and internationalism in the classroom.
I am grateful for teaching different levels during my eight year teaching profession as it gave me an insight to what students at each age require to move forward on their educational journey. Depending on my experience, I strongly believe that a disciplined and organized classroom is key to a successful learning experience. Nevertheless, students should enjoy learning and teaching should not be a boring process. Therefore, I believe in teaching through fun! In addition, independent learning is a very important aspect of a 21st century education which should be given great importance in the classroom.
Leisure time is a great time for me to engage in my hobbies such as reading novels, travelling, playing football and watching movies.
I am really looking forward to meeting my new students and I have great hope that it will be a successful and fruitful opportunity for me and them.
