From an early age on I was interested in languages, different cultures and working with people, which led me to pursue my Master of Applied Sciences in tourism and start a career in hospitality. This allowed me to live in 4 different countries over 16 years, be part of the opening of 6 luxury hotels and meet many inspirational people who have shaped my way of thinking and living.
I have always been really passionate about the power and opportunities a language and its culture present and decided after the birth of my daughter to change my career and to start teaching, as the wish to work with young children and being part in shaping their view of the world increased.
For four years I was tutoring children from Years 1-6, worked with children who were homeschooled and eventually joined a school as a German Language Assistant, teaching both mother tongue and second language learners. In order for me to keep learning and growing I am doing my PGCE qualification this academic year and I am excited to be applying this knowledge with my students.
Outside of teaching, my happy place is my family where I can truly unwind. We enjoy being active together, going to the beach, traveling and spending time with our friends & families who are scattered all around the world, which comes with the great benefit of traveling to different countries and exposing my daughter to different ways of living and truly becoming a global citizen.
We cannot not communicate, so let’s do it in all different languages this world has to offer!
