After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Islamic & Arabic from The Jordanian University in Jordan, I moved to Dubai as I got married. However I always had a great desire to teach, and therefore I started my journey in teaching Arabic for native speakers in Arabic schools.
I spent 6 years at a secondary school, and as I always like to seek out challenges I spent the following 10 years at international schools teaching Arabic as a second language & Islamic for none native speakers. During that time I took on various leadership roles before becoming Subject leader for a further three years.
I am very fortunate to work in the position of Islamic and Arabic teacher and to be part of the Arabic & Islamic department here at Nord Anglia International School Dubai.
My teaching philosophy is the wish for all children to reach their full potential and I encourage them, in all that I do, to go beyond what they “assume” that they are capable of achieving. I believe that “determination is the key to success“ is a great attitude to have in life!
I also believe that listening to the children’s views and finding out how they best learn is critical for them to enjoy and progress in the subject.
Outside of teaching, I love keeping fit and active. I enjoy reading, watching TV and visiting new places. I also love learning new languages. Hoping to learn French next!!!
