I am originally from Hull in England, though I have lived in Manchester for 10 years. I moved to Manchester to study at the Royal Northern College of Music where I gained a performance-based degree, my principal study being the trumpet. I began teaching music lessons to primary school children which is where I discovered my love of teaching, though I then worked in orchestra management before completing a PGCE in Primary Education.
I have worked in Year 3 at a school in Stockport since beginning my career and have loved the challenges and opportunities which it has brought me. I consider myself to be a creative teacher who enjoys thinking outside of the box to engage children, taking their ideas in order to encourage children to have a say in their learning.
Outside of teaching I have kept up with my musical interests, playing and teaching around the local area. I am also a keen runner and have enjoyed using this as an excuse to visit different countries, running various marathons and half marathons!
I am enjoying my life in Dubai. I strongly believe in broadening the minds of young people and encouraging them to take control over their learning and explore their potential, through creating inspiring learning experiences.
