Fourth Year of Mindfulness in Lower School

Our Lower School students are embarking on our fourth year of our Mindfulness program. Windermere Preparatory School continues to believe that supporting our students' social and emotional development needs is the foundation of all academic success. Our Mindfulness Program aligns beautifully with our Social-Emotional and Character Development Program. Mrs. Oliveira will be working with all grade levels in four-week increments. Our Mindfulness Program involves the practice of self- regulation strategies, and understanding how their actions and behaviors directly impact and influence the reactions and behaviors of others. Discovering the power behind mindful breathing techniques, each child has a chance to identify the technique that they feel best connected with their needs. Students learn the power behind using words of affirmation with themselves and sharing them with others, The program explores the practice of thinking kind thoughts to increase the feelings of empathy and compassion for themselves and others.
