High School Weekly Update

Spring Break has officially arrived, and it is time to ring in a new season with a week of relaxation. Now is a great time to check your child(ren)’s progress is Skyward and Canvas. After Spring Break, please contact the teachers from whom you need more information so that you can support your child(ren) best.

We hope that you take the time during Spring Break to truly rejuvenate so that the students come back to school ready to tackle the final half of the semester. For our seniors, it means arriving at the end of their high school careers while our 9th, 10th, and 11th graders are making their transition into their next year. Finishing strong is something that we want everyone at WPS to have as a goal. Anyone can finish because the year comes to an end. We have to intentionally finish strong. Below are some tips to help you and your children through the final 43 school days of the year (minus exams!).

  • Celebrate success to this point!

  • Set challenging yet achievable goals for the final days.

  • Evaluate schedules and have weekly meetings to ensure everyone is on the same page.

  • Talk with teachers early about concerns and progress.

  • Find time on the weekends for the students to be kids. They need fun, too!

We want to be part of the process toward a successful end of the school year, so contact us if there is anything we can do to help. ~ Dr. Leslie Williams, High School Director
