Head of School

Thank you for your interest in Windermere Preparatory School.  I invite you to explore our website and become more familiar with the range of offerings we have for the growth and development of our students.  As a Pk3 - 12 school, we are proud to offer through school opportunities for our families and their children. We are exceptionally proud of our focus on academic achievement supported by fully developed FIne Arts and Athletics Programs.

WPS is an International Baccalaureate Organization World School. This means that our high school students are able to earn an IB diploma or a range of IB certificates as an important part of their preparation to gain admission and succeed in the country’s top colleges and universities.  As a team of educators, we value the IB Curriculum for its focus on the development of critical thinking, complex problem solving, and the application of learning across the academic disciplines.

At WPS, we pledge to prepare our students as the next generation of global leaders. This pledge is grounded in an ethos and mission, represented by three core values in our school crest: Unitas, Veritas, and Virtus.  From the inception of the school in the year 2000, our crest has come to embody our mission with students. As such, we have come to regard our crest as much more than a logo. The value of “Unitas” represents our focus on positive relationships, transparency, and most of all collaborative teamwork at all levels of the school.  The value of “Veritas” represents our mission to deliver high quality teaching and learning, essential rites of passage, and memorable experiences for our students. The value of “Virtus” centers our work on the development of the whole student, as well as the development of a growth mindset, empathy, and service orientation. These three core values are important constants for our school as we look to the future.

As a member of the Nord Anglia Education Family of Schools, we have the unique opportunity to enhance our rigorous and challenging academic programming with an array of enrichment opportunities. To name just a few, these include MIT supported STEAM lessons in the Middle School, annual expeditions for High School Students to Tanzania.  We have an annual Global Games that provides Middle School students to participate in Olympic style competition with peers from sister schools in North and South America. Our Juilliard collaboration includes vocal music, instrumental music, and drama. We are also involved in a collaboration with UNICEF collaboration that gives our students opportunities to think deeply and take action on global sustainability goals.  These important partnerships put our students in a position to think, learn, and gain important and unique experiences that help lay a strong foundation for their future.

We like to say that Windermere Prep is a community school with an international outlook.  We are proud to welcome a diverse population of day students and international students that represent over 40 nations of origin.  Students at Windermere Prep truly have an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that reflects the global society that they will enter as adults.

If you are seeking a rigorous and relevant education coupled with the experience of a positive, inclusive, and diverse environment for your child, I invite you to visit our beautiful and vibrant campus.  Our admission team will be happy to take your family for a tour and answer your questions about our school.

We are looking forward to meeting you.
