This year, BSG students have consistently demonstrated their excellence in international Physics competitions with 3 gold awards won.
Nine Year 10 Students competed against 10,941 other students from 205 schools from across the world on 14th May in a difficult British Physics Olympiad organized by the University of Oxford. This required entrants to sit 2 papers of 25 minutes each on topics in Physics and the history of Physics.
Our students performed magnificently, achieving 2 gold certificates for Helen Wong and Mabel Ng, 2 silver for Terry Chan and Jed Lan, 2 bronze certificates for Harsh Vardia and Sohoon Kim. These results demonstrate the standard being reached by our students.
On 8th March, six Year 12 Physics students participated in the International Physics Olympiad AS Challenge organized by the University of Oxford. Students sit an extremely difficult examination paper which includes questions that would challenge university students at Oxford.
Our students performed brilliantly with one student, Shing Tak Lam, winning a Gold Certificate with an outstanding result of 78%. Shing’s result is extremely impressive although consistent with his extraordinary achievements in Physics throughout this year.
Our students also won 1 Bronze (Class 1), 2 Bronze (Class 2).
Congratulations to all our students for having the courage to compete in this fierce competition and well done for the magnificent results you achieved. If you set your sights high, you can achieve great things. We are all extremely proud.
