I have always had a passion to work with young children. When I finished school I began working in a nursery and while working there I obtained my diploma in Early Childhood Education from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, I worked my way up from a student teacher to head supervisor for the under twos. After three years the travel bug set in and I wanted to explore Europe.

Even when I was qualifying I knew I wanted to work abroad and so started looking for jobs in other countries which led me to my first role in Kuwait.

Over 20 years ago I completed my Bachelor of Education in the UK specialising in Primary Education. During my long and varied career I have taught in every age group from Pre-Nursey to Year 6, these experiences have made me realise that I am   passionate about Early years Education.  I have worked in a variety of different schools based in the UK and overseas in countries such as Colombia, UAE, Jordan, Qatar and China. I feel that this wide range of experience gives me a great insight into how children learn.  I have spent the last 5 years working back in the UK and began to miss the excitement that international schools bring, having previously worked for Nord Anglia in Shanghai I knew that I would love to return to China and I jumped at the chance to come to Guangzhou.

I obtained a Bachelor of Business Management and a Bachelor of Marketing from Monash University. I started my career by tutoring high school students, training staff for the head office of one of Australia’s leading retailers, and later moving on to manage a family business. It was at that stage of my life that I realised my passion for helping people to learn, and as a result I was compelled to complete my TESOL Certificate and Diploma to begin my formal teaching profession.
