I trained to be a teacher at Manchester Metropolitan University before working in a primary school in Liverpool. During my time there, I was fortunate to be part of a teacher exchange programme to China and travelled to Chongqing to teach in a state school. This was my first experience of China and I loved it.
In 2008 I left Liverpool behind and moved to teach in a British school in Shanghai. Whilst there I continued to develop my passion for teaching and I relished the opportunity to work with teachers and students from all over the world. I then relocated to Guangzhou in 2011.
Exploring Guangzhou is one of my favourite weekend activities. The city and surrounding areas have so much to offer and I greatly enjoy practising speaking and reading Mandarin whilst out and about. I also like rock climbing, travelling and baking.
