I trained to become a teacher at Brunel University in 2005 after finishing my Psychology Degree at Kent University. I then taught in London for 2 years before moving to Shanghai to work in the British International School where I was an Assistant Head leading Key Stage One. I left Shanghai after 6 years to return to Europe where I taught at St. Julian’s School in Portugal for 4 years teaching in the Nursery and with the Student Support Department.
I am now very excited to be returning to China to teach at BSG where I will be teaching Reception in the Early Years. I love China and the opportunities for travel and adventure that it offers and I am looking forward to getting to know Guangzhou as we settle into our new home.
I love living abroad as it truly allows you to learn and appreciate different cultures and customs and it also helps you to really understand how interestingly different we all are and yet, at the same time how fascinatingly similar we all are regardless of where we are from. I am very excited that our 2 young daughters will be at BSG with us where they will be learning with children from different cultures and nationalities. Our daughters were born in Portugal and will now be living in China and so they are well on their way to becoming global citizens who I hope are as open minded and excited by travel and adventure and discovering new ideas and experiences as their parents are.
