Originally from Liverpool, UK, I began working with young people through football coaching and mentoring but quickly realised that my real passion was for helping young people achieve their full potential academically and socially and I have been fortunate enough to play a major part in this through different roles throughout the world. I have been working in schools and alternative education for the past 15 years in a variety of roles including Head of Year and Behaviour Specialist, EAL teacher, School Counsellor and Football Coach in countries such as UK, Indonesia and China.
I have great experience in working with students of different backgrounds and abilities and always find a way to meet their needs and inspire them to be ambitious.
Having already worked in China for 2 years it has always been my goal to work at the British School of Guangzhou, as I know this is a world class education setting and I am thrilled to be part of the team. I am also delighted to be a part of the 6th form team and I am excited to help students reach their goals as they start their adventurous journey towards university.
When not in school, I am a very active and happy person who likes to keep fit in the gym or playing football for the local teams. I enjoy watching all sports but especially football as I am a big LFC fan. I also enjoy travelling and have been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places in China and throughout Asia.
