Miss Hummel completed a degree in Psychology at Royal Holloway University of London and then took part in the Teach First programme to earn her PGCE and work as a teacher in disadvantaged areas of the UK. She has particularly specialised in teaching SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural education) as well as Mathematics in Primary. Miss Hummel also taught A-Level Psychology for two years alongside Primary, which gave her valuable experience of the curriculum across key stages. Having had an international upbringing, she is now excited to start her new adventure in Hong Kong.
Miss Hummel is passionate about supporting and enabling collaborative learning in her classroom. She strongly believes that students have a lot to learn from each other. She also believes that developing teamwork and social skills is as important as performing well academically; these are skills that students will need to use in any professional environment when they are older.
Outside of school, Miss Hummel enjoys reading, playing volleyball and going for walks. She is looking forward to exploring the hikes that Hong Kong has to offer as well as the incredible cuisine she has heard so much about.
