Ms. S. Carnett

EAL Teacher, Balmoral House Associate Tutor

Miss Carnett holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona. But, during her last semester of university, she discovered her love for teaching through working as a university teaching assistant. After her job as a university teaching assistant, Miss Carnett worked as a native English teacher at an international kindergarten in Hong Kong. While she was working at the kindergarten, she received her TEFL certification. She then entered Nord Anglia as a Teaching Assistant before moving up to her current position as an EAL teacher. Furthermore, Miss Carnett is in the process of completing her Masters in English for Academic Purposes at the Education University of Hong Kong.

Miss Carnett promotes a safe and welcoming environment for her students to encourage her students to speak more and feel comfortable enough to take risks when asking and answering questions. Outside of school, she enjoys keeping active through hiking and practising Krav Maga. She also enjoys reading and learning new things about different cultures and languages.
